Dark Moon Divination: Arrows of Intention

The House of the Goddess priestesses will be conducting my

Arrows of Intention ritual on Zoom,

Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 6:00 pm Pacific Standard Time.

The ritual will include the creation of personal Intention Arrows. Please prepare with the following items at hand:

A gift from the goddess (a stone, crystal, or shell)

· 1 dry, sturdy stick or slender branch, about 12 to 18 inches long (or whatever length feels right to you), with a natural or cut point at one end. (See examples of tree correspondences below.)

· Enough yarn, ribbon, or twine to wrap ¼ to ½ of the stick

· Scissors

· Optional: a sharpie, feathers

Intention Arrows

Tree — Correspondences

When crafting intention arrows, boost your magick by choosing a small branch (preferably deadfall/self-pruned) from a tree whose magical properties align with your intention. Various traditions may differ on tree correspondences. Below are a few examples drawn from Druidism, Shamanism, and Wicca.

Acacia: Wards off evil; protection; psychic abilities. Planet: Sun. Element: Air

Birch: A goddess tree.Tree of new beginnings; ladder to the Sky World; birch cribs bring Goddess protection for babies; endurance, getting in touch with and honor the eternal feminine principle in the universe and within yourself. Act cleanly; avoid distractions. Planet: Venus. Element: Water.

Bottle Brush (horsetail): Abundance, fertility, love, energy, joy. The name invokes banishing, cleansing, and renewed energies, and in Australia is used to celebrate births. The red color represents life-blood, fire, death and rebirth, doorways and entrance to the underworld. Bottlebrush essences aid in moving through major life changes, brushing out the past and allowing us to move on. (Day, “Bottlebrush,”)

Elder: Exorcism, protection, and healing. Can force the release of evil enchantments or spells; used in wand making. Reminds us to honor the mother principle of the universe, and to work for the betterment of all beings. Element: Water.

Mesquite: Healing. Fuels magical fires. Planet: Moon. Elements: Water.

Oak: Protection, health, money, healing, fertility, luck. Stay centered and grounded in mind, body, and spirit. Seek balance in your life. Planet: Sun. Element: Fire.

Olive: Healing, peace, fertility, potency, protection. Planet: Sun. Element: Fire.

Rowan: Reminds us tostrengthen our personal protection and our spiritual shields. Provides powerful magical protection, and strengthens one’s inner peace and patience. Also, increases psychic powers, healing, power, and success. Several First Nation tribes in America used rowan as a medicine. Planet: Sun. Element: Fire

Walnut: Health, mental powers, wishes.Planet: Sun. Element: Fire. Black Walnut: Powers of mind and breath, astral travel, motivation, weather magick.

Willow: Willow harps were associated with poetic secrets, the province of the Druids, and willows were considered sacred to poems. Several First Nation tribes in America used willow as medicine. Love, love divination, protection, and healing. Planet: Moon. Element: Water.

3 Ways To Boost Your Magic and Create Positive Change

The moon entered Capricorn this morning, an excellent time for clear short-term goals. Given world events and uncertainty in health, economics, and politics, many healers, shamans, witches, druids, and other magical folk have been called upon to add their power to address these issues. With so many urgent concerns, choosing where to begin can be overwhelming.

1. Timing

Full Moon in Aquarius
August 3, 2020, 11:59 AM EDT

Let the moon be your guide. Between the New (Dark) Moon and the Full Moon concentrate on magic to increase. The next few days as we approach the Full Moon will be especially powerful for increasing spells. After the Full Moon and until the next New Moon, shift your concentration on magic to decrease something.

Examples of magic for increasing:

· Healing spells

· Protection spells

· Wisdom and enlightenment spells

· Peace spells

· Prosperity spells

· Flow of certain goods (like masks and other PPEs)

By shifting your focus after the Full Moon, when the moon wanes, you can turn the above concerns into decreasing spells.

Examples of magic for decreasing:

· Decrease the virus spread

· Decrease threats to a group or individual

· Decrease violence and unrest

· Decrease shortages of vital supplies

2. Narrow Your Focus

Magic and healing are boosted with focused intent. When performing distance Reiki, for example, you can blanket an individual with healing energy for general well-being. But if you know the individual has a malignant tumor, you would focus Universal Life Force Energy like a laser and beam it on the tumor to shrink the cancer and heal the surrounding tissue.

Similarly, a spell to heal all who are sick would have less chance of success than, a spell to increase the good health of a particular individual — perhaps a family member, friend, or a Supreme Court justice.

Narrowing your focus also helps you determine what unwanted consequences, including karmic repercussions, might occur if your magic works. Frame your spell carefully and specifically with harm to none.

3. Utilize Correspondences

For deep, important spell work, boost your magic by incorporating or working with helpful correspondences. In addition to the phase of the moon, consider the best day of the week.[1]

· Sunday: Utilize the Sun’s energy for magical workings for general success, business ventures, professional success, and efforts involving friendships, happiness, and mental and physical success.

· Monday: Harness the Moon’s energy for efforts concerning women, family, home, gardening, and medicine.

· Tuesday: The energy of Mars boosts magic concerning men, conflict, physical endurance and strength, surgery, and political ventures.

· Wednesday:Mercury’s energy benefits efforts regarding those in the creative arts, teachers and students, communications, and self-improvement.

· Thursday:Utilize Jupiter’s influence for workings concerning general success, prosperity, accomplishments, and legal matters.

· Friday:Venus’s warm energies benefit matters of the heart, music, comfort, and pleasure.

· Saturday:Saturn’s karmic energies assist magic concerning reincarnation, karmic lessons, wisdom, and the eradication of disease.

Other correspondences to consider include color, plants, stones, and planetary hours.

The Magical Cauldron

Recently, I was asked to think of one thing I could add to the Magical Cauldron to facilitate positive change. I ask the same of you. What is your greatest strength? What can you calmly, thoughtfully add to the Magical Cauldron to safeguard your country, your ideals, or your family?

THE LUNAR ECLIPSE

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, July’s lunar eclipse will begin at 11:04 PM, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), 8:04 PM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on July 4 and end at 1:56 AM EDT on July 5 (10:56 PM PDT). It will be visible from most of North America.

SEARCHING FOR GRATITUDE DURING THE PANDEMIC

July’s Full Blessing Moon celebrates abundance, a blessing that may seem as elusive as hand sanitizer and toilet paper. Add Mercury in Retrograde and a Lunar Eclipse, and the path to the Big Shift many sense is coming appears quite bumpy.

To live in gratitude and be able to recognize the blessings in your life may be difficult. We are experiencing a pandemic and its economic repercussions and mental and physical health challenges. Political and social upheavals fill the streets, airwaves, and social media.

The question, “How much worse will things get?” comes to mind.

We can counter the energy of fear with the energy of gratitude. What blessings did you experience today? Did you wake to a beautiful sunrise? Are you and your family and friends safe and healthy?

Many of us sheltering-in-place turned to gardening. Seeing seeds sprout gives us comfort and hope for the future. Others adopted a pet, clearing many animal shelters across the USA. Pets offer unconditional love, give us a purpose, and like tending a garden, give us a reason to get up every day. While dust gathered on our cars and planes were grounded, globally the skies and rivers cleared. Wild animals came out of hiding

PERFORM A BLESSING RITUAL

Many of us cleaned and de-cluttered our homes. The Blessing Moon is an excellent time to perform a ritual usually saved for New Year’s. Bless and clear your home by ritually cleaning your front door and threshold with the intent that your blessings will multiple, only those of good intent will enter, and that your home will be filled with love and healing light. Seal the door blessing by ringing tingshaws, spraying your front door with sage water, or giving your door a final wipe with wet rosemary sprigs.

MAKE A GRATITUDE JAR

Craft projects like decorating a gratitude jar or creating a vision board weave the magic of thankfulness and hope. Each day, write on a small slip of paper something you were grateful for that day. Place your gratitude jar where it can bathe in the bright light of the Full Blessing Moon.
